CHRISTY BROWN (Irl 1932 - 1981) The Potato Gatherers, mixed media on paper, ca 13.5 x 10.5", signed & dated '58. Christy Brown was an Irish writer and painter whose cerebral palsy allowed him to write or type only with the toes of one foot. His most recognized work is his autobiography, titled My Left Foot. It was later made into a 1989 Academy Award-winning film of the same name.
