This month…there is a rare proof set of six English silver coins Lot 639, all dated 1887, which are in superb condition. They commemorated the Jubilee anniversary of Queen Victoria’s coronation in 1887, when the British Empire was near it’s peak. Other noteworthy lots include Lots 611 & 612, together these lots total 53 £1 notes from the 1940s to 1970s with their iconic “Lady Lavery” designs. These lots are an excellent example of the distinctive series of coins and banknotes that the newly independent Irish Free State issues in 1928.
