20/09/2021 Jewellery & Gems
Small weddings have been a thing for the past year and a half largely due to restrictions on the numbers of guests at weddings, but 'micro' weddings have also been a conscious choice for many couples. Not only are they less expensive, but they can also be more intimate, more environmentally friendly, less stressful and the money saved on guest numbers can be spent on a more boutique experience, not to mention a bigger engagement ring! So, a smaller wedding does not have to mean less! We are coming into the traditional wedding season and whilst there is still uncertainty around the number of guests allowed, consider creating an more intimate boutique experience, and splash out on the ring of your dreams! My favourite rings in our forthcoming auction for the bride to be:
Lot 427: A Tiffany pear shaped halo cluster, 1.22 ct, very on trend and probably around half of the high street price: €6500 - 8000
Lot 414: A magnificent vintage ruby and diamond Mauboussin ring, this really is a show stopper and a bold choice for someone who want to stand out from the crowd: €16,500 - 18,500
Lot 168: An old cut diamond solitaire ring, 3.20 ct, a more traditional but ever popular choice €10,000 - 14,000
Lot 418: An early 20th century diamond and ruby cluster ring, of bombé form €5500 - 6500
Lot 417: A vintage cluster ring with a halo surround, centre stone 1.96 ct €6000 - 8000
You may even have enough in budget left over to buy a small gift for your bridesmaids, a diamond pendant or a pair of earrings are popular choices:
Lot 87: a pretty antique aquamarine pendant, to a white gold back chain: €180 - 250
Lot 290: a diamond cluster pendant, 0.75 ct: €500 - 700
Lot 362: a diamond set heart shaped pendant: €450 - 850
Lot 55: a pair of diamond daisy cluster earrings: €500 - 700
Lot 125: a pair of silver pearl stud earrings: €80 - 120
Lot 130: a pair of tanzanite stud earrings €80 - 120
