Just as with jewellery, a watch can hold memories while you wear it. The place where you bought it, the excitement of wearing it for the first time, the meaning behind it. Of course, all while offering the useful solution of time keeping. For many, there are styles that are synonymous with luxury and prestige. The Reverso is a watch that does just that.

Born out of a unique necessity while Swiss businessman, César de Trey, was watching a polo match in India. A player had just broken the glass of their watch, de Trey was challenged with the task of creating a watch that was ‘Polo proof’!

César de Trey brought his idea to Jacques-David LeCoultre, who was the owner of the LeCoultre manufacture. He would be able to provide the movements for the new watch.

The firm Jaeger S.A. were appointed to create the reversible case. The French designer, René-Alfred Chauvot, was the actual inventor of the unique slide and flip mechanism. Filling with the Paris patent office in March of 1931, the Reverso was born!
