April Exclusive: A One of a Kind Frame

This month, we are proud to announce a spectacular picture frame of ruby and diamond floral clusters, emerald foliage and diamond scrolls up for auction. It is possible that this piece is part of a larger vanity set, due to the discovery of a matching hand mirror which appeared in the auction of Magnificent Jewels in Christie’s, New York on 16 October 2012. The mirror, which came from a private collection, had an auction estimate of $15,000-20,000, but fetched an impressive $60,000.  This stunning frame was given as a wedding present to the current vendor’s parents in the 1950’s in the Far East. Come in to view this one of a kind piece for yourself!

Guide to Designing your own Diamond Engagement Ring:

There are endless engagement ring options out there, but if you want something truly unique that no one else will have, you should consider designing your own. Here are three steps to designing your own stunning diamond engagement ring:

  1. Begin at the Centre: The centre or primary diamond is the star of the show, so always remember to consider the four C’s (colour, clarity, cut and carat) when choosing.
  2. Select a Setting: Once the central feature diamond is chosen, you need to decide what you are going to set it in, such as a plain, thin band or diamond set.
  3. Choose a metal: Consider durability (platinum is most durable), shine (white gold tends to make stones look bright) and regular maintenance (yellow gold and platinum do not require re-plating as often as white gold) while also considering your own personal style.

This month we have an amazing selection of loose diamonds along with GIA reports stating excellent colours and clarities!
