Value in signed pieces at O’Reilly’s

11 September

Every month, the auction at O’Reilly’s features a strong selection of signed pieces. While vintage Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Tiffany & Co. are particularly sought after in the antique market (and often to be found at O’Reilly’s), it’s the contemporary signed pieces in particular where there is no better example of the value to be found at an O’Reilly’s auction. It’s an easy comparison to make, whether novice or seasoned auction attendee – see the piece at auction, and compare it with the price on the high street. Catching our eye this month:

A Cartier Diamond Set Ring, pave  set in 18ct yellow gold, size J, €3500 – €4000.

The wide band of this ring is fully studded with sparkling diamonds, set in an iconic Cartier curve – but the real beauty of this piece lies in how flat it sits against the finger, making it easy to wear every day.

A diamond solitaire ring by Tiffany & Co., the brilliant cut diamond mounted in platinum, €300-€400.

Dainty and elegant, this would make a very special engagement ring. The diamond is beautiful quality and comes with papers confirming it as .25cts, H colour, VVS1 clarity. The official Tiffany & Co. pouch and box completes the lot.

A Chopard Happy Diamond pendant, 18ct white gold on an 18ct white gold Chopard chain, €700 – €900

Happy Diamonds continue to be an important collection for Chopard – the range, which spans everything from rings to watches is characterised by small bezel set diamonds, freely moving inside a glass case set into gold. This pendant is a perfect way to start collecting the full range – it is one of three Happy Diamonds designs in this auction.
